Ben Register, LPC
Ben is just your normal, everyday guy that likes to hunt, fish, bike, watch SEC football, and work in the yard. He is not the stereotypical therapist as he tends to be more task-oriented with his clients than “touchy-feely”. He is straightforward in his approach and is effective in helping clients overcome depression, anxiety, addiction, and trauma.
Ben graduated from The University of Georgia with a degree in Child and Family Development. His interest in working with mood disorders, addiction, and trauma survivors began at RTS while interning at the VA’s Trauma Recovery Program in Jackson, MS where he worked with veterans suffering from PTSD. Working in a wide range of settings that include inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, residential treatment, and private practice, Ben is a well-rounded therapist equipped to work with a wide range of issues.
Ben has several specializations. He is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and helps men recover from sex and porn addiction. Ben works with a local consultation team that provides Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for clients who struggle with impulsivity, mood regulation, and relationship challenges. He has achieved provider status for Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy (treatments for PTSD) through the University of Texas Health Science Center and Strong Star Training Initiative.
Areas of Expertise:
“I’ve worked in several other career fields, but no other job has even come close to matching the satisfaction I get from helping people find freedom after experiencing some of their darkest times.”
